The Spartan Bus Tour is an opportunity for MSU faculty and administrators to join President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., as they visit locations throughout Michigan to build community connections and strengthen the university’s commitment to education, research, outreach and extension.
Two different tour options will give faculty and administrators a chance to review the experiences and choose the one that best aligns with their schedule and interests while showcasing the people, places and programs of our state in unique and engaging ways.
This spring, a new addition to the Spartan Bus Tour initiative will offer participants a more focused deep dive into a narrower geographic location. Taking place May 5-6, this excursion will offer a two-day, one-night opportunity to connect with and learn more about the communities of the metro Detroit area.
Plans are underway for the Spartan Bus Tour trip that will take place Oct. 19-22 and feature the Upper Peninsula and portions of central Michigan. Look for more details about the tour and application process this summer.
Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., became the 22nd president of MSU in March 2024. A strong believer in fostering deep connections between universities and the public they serve, he hosted similar bus tours while chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
