The Spartan Bus Tour is an opportunity for MSU faculty and administrators to join President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., as they visit locations throughout Michigan to build community connections and strengthen the university’s commitment to education, research, outreach and extension.
Tour experiences
Two different tour options will give faculty and administrators a chance to review the experiences and choose the one that best aligns with their schedule and interests while showcasing the people, places and programs of our state in unique and engaging ways.
Local Loop Detroit
The Spartan Bus Tour went to Detroit May 5-6, 2025 for an immersive trip connecting MSU faculty and leaders with communities in the metro region.
Regional Route Upper Peninsula
In October 2025, the Spartan Bus Tour will visit communities in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
About the President
Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D., became the 22nd president of MSU in March 2024. A strong believer in fostering deep connections between universities and the public they serve, he hosted similar bus tours while chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
