Spartan Bus Tour

Spartan Bus Tour

Each Spartan Bus Tour brings faculty and invited senior administrators together for an immersive journey through a region of Michigan, offering firsthand opportunities to engage with communities, industries, organizations and research facilities while experiencing MSU's land-grant mission in action.

Along the way, participants connect with the people and places our students, alumni, partners and stakeholders call home, gaining a deeper understanding of the relationships shaping Michigan's future and the opportunities for meaningful collaboration across the university and beyond.

Be part of the journey

Join the next bus tour and discover Michigan through the lens of MSU's land-grant mission. From Oct. 26-28, 2026, travel alongside President Kevin M. Guskiewicz and colleagues from across the university on a three-day exploration of southern Michigan. Traversing the state from lakeshore to lakeshore during the fall color season, participants will experience a cross-section of the state through visits to more than a dozen community and MSU sites.

The Spartan Bus Tour offers unique opportunities to:

  • Broaden your impact: Forge new research and outreach partnerships by connecting directly with the organizations, industries and communities shaping our state.
  • Experience state heritage and innovation: Gain fresh perspectives by visiting historical, agricultural, cultural and environmental landmarks across the region.
  • Create meaningful connections: Cultivate relationships with fellow faculty and community leaders, identifying opportunities for expanded research, teaching and service.
